Car History

KO/87 is seeking a new custodian after a successful 2024 season. It finished a very creditable 16th at the Goodwood Member’s Meeting in a grid of 24 vintage Grand Prix cars in the Grover Williams Trophy. It then competed twice at Donington with Motor Racing legends and the VSCC; both races over 40 minutes long. K0/87 then completed the AMOC St John Horsfall trophy race and closed the season with the Silverstone Festival. The vehicle has a fully documented history, first owned by Aston Martin shareholder and board member, Lance Prideaux-Brune who used this car to compete in the 1932 & 1933 RAC Rally.

KO/87’s engine has been upgraded by Ecurie Bertelli and includes: a Le Mans cylinder head, FIA HTP compliant race exhaust, Ulster specification carburettors and Ecurie Bertelli race camshaft. Retaining original axles, gearbox and all important mechanicals with an original International body donated by another vehicle during a very high-quality restoration in the 1980s. Full windscreen, hood, 21” wheels and spare wheels are all included with the sale allowing the car to be returned to touring specification.

The Aston Martin "International" model was quickly and widely regarded as one of the best light sports cars of the day. The name "International" was coined to capitalise on the Works’ racing efforts. The appearance of the cars at Brooklands racetrack and in rallies, sprints and hill climbs all around the country, alongside Works Team Cars, increased the cars’ sporting reputation. The International is truly a sports car in the best tradition of the earlier Bamford and Martin cars. In period, the International was pricey but performance was highly praised by the motoring press. Featuring excellent brakes, good performance and a true four-seater, the International is an a very practical, rare and stylish sporting pre-war car suitable for race, rally or touring.
